Seemingly, it seems that life without the Internet would be beneficial to all of us. Because we will escape from bunch of junk Email, fraud in the net or slander/mental abuse on BBS. However, I can easily image life that we would loose national strength. I’ll talk about why I think so using following two points.
First, up to neck for handling chores. Let me take an example from my work place. I organize 4 meetings a week. Under current environment I can use the internet, what I need to do is sending Email to participants if I need to inform them of the change of time, location, meeting room or postponing. Without Email, I have to distribute the information of change as a bee. I’d like to concentrate on designing semiconductor chips. But This inconvenience could affect engineer’s activity more or less. It’s no exaggeration to say that it would hamper the great leap in technology.
Second, information collapse. Life without the Internet would generate inefficiency of circulation for information. To send message without the Internet, we need to rely on postal service. However, we suffer from demographic imbalance. The lack of workforce would damage the framework of postal service. Information would not be circulated at business world. Please imagine that 80 year old guy delivers letter, card whatever. It would impair the enhancement of prosperity.
In conclusion, there is no more life than life with the Internet. I’m very happy to enjoy life with the Internet.

The Internet---Its dark side
Everything has advantages and disadvantages. So far I think we are very familiar with good sides of the Internet. Thanks to the Internet, we can get a lot of information without going out to a library. We are becoming mentally more mature, and we can satisfy the need of our soul much faster than people in previous era. I personally feel I do not need to live up to 70 years old. The Internet can take us to a distant place without air fee. So nowadays it seems railroad companies are putting more advertisements to lure customer for travel. But in talking about mail service, they seem to have become busier than before thanks to the spread of the Internet shopping like amazon or rakuten.
In talking about demerits, the Internet sometimes makes your life difficult. There are several concerns like fraud, leak of personal information, encounter with bad people, expansion of prostitution, loss of social skills, blow on mind etc.
Dating sites have been a growing concern in our society. The title itself claims its purpose is for dating, but actually these sites have been hotbeds for prostitution. Child prostitution is particularly a serious problem. Sometimes young girls are awfully sexually abused then the film taken are released on the Net. Their social lives and futures are shattered. So stricter law is required, and more social awarness especially for parents are required for this kind of problem.
Installing filtering software that blockes harmful sites is one good way, but actually less than 5% of kid's cell phones and PC have got it installed. IT technology is difficult for lay people, and worse since technology advances so fast, current technology soon becomes obsolete. And bad guys also advance like virus in hospital. It's a vicious circle. So in short the best way to avoid any troubles concerning the Internet is just not to have it.
Not having a PC is really good way to avoid various trouble on human relations. On the Net, you can pretend all sorts of people. You can be a great philosopher or top scientist. When you read somebody's website or blog, you may think that writer a great guy, but actually they tend to be far less attractive character. Reason? Because that writer can quote some great thinkers' ideas, and also in talking about English level, he/she may just have enough time to look up dictionary and elaborate the writing because he/she is a NEET or freeter. So when you find good a writing, you need to be very cautious.
